On 19th of February, Enguri hydropower plant was stopped to identify causes of increased leakage water and to plan rehabilitation activities on the diversion pressure tunnel. The hydropower plant, presumably, will be closed for 14 calendar days.

In the above-mentioned period, the occupied Abkhazia will be provided with electricity mostly by Russian power network. The evolved deficit, which partially is preconditioned by increased consumption on the Abkhazian territory, will be covered by local generation sources of Georgia. The exact amount and price of the electricity supplied to the occupied Abkhazia will depend on actual consumption. The negotiations regarding other terms are still being held.
